Directed and produced by Vishal Bhanushali, this award-winning short grew from an encounter on a Himalayan journey — one artist listening to another.

ROOTED IN TIBET
An old tradition.
A new way to play.
Ming Mang belongs to Tibet’s traditional board-game culture. Also written as Mig Mang and associated with the name Gundru, the game uses contrasting pieces and a simple idea: surround opposing pieces to turn them into your own.
Historical accounts describe different boards and rules. The name Mig Mang has also been used for Tibetan Go and for board games more broadly, so the exact age of this particular game is difficult to establish.
Ming Mang Legends is Vishal’s contemporary digital interpretation of that heritage — bringing a thoughtful contest of position and balance to a new generation of players.
